Tools to Use –

You can use your iphone/android phone with a checklist of photos. Think about the different expressions you’ll want to have and feel free to create a board on Pinterest of Photo inspiration before you do your own photo shoot. Set your phone up on an iphone tripod and get a remote shutter for it. Be sure to use back cameras because the quality of images is higher than the “selfie” camera. From there you can have fun snapping away! I have included a quick video here on the setup I use so you can see how easy all of this can be done on your own. Be sure to download my checklist of where you can use different images across your social media here as well.

Please hover over my yellow headshot on top of the video and click the subscribe button – thank you for your support!

Props to Incorporate-

  • Anything with your logo

  • Objects that are a metaphor for your business/stories

  • Framed pictures of moments or important awards

  • People that help you tell a story of your beginnings, your middle or your future

  • Books that are helpful to your audience

  • Tools of the trade for your job & your passions

  • Objects that represent your passions/hobbies

Colors to consider-

Consider choosing a color palette that can be recognizable for others when they see it to be reminded of you. Try to incorporate those colors in little bits throughout your photos and props. Don’t go overboard, but just sprinkle it in. You can include it in your necklace/tie/hat, it could show up on your binder or your notebook.

Apps/Filters-

A few of my favorite apps to help plan for a cohesive look is Canva (there’s a free edition), Lightroom Mobile (free), and Preview (paid) to layout your IG feed and Mojo (paid) to add some cool effects to my IG stories.

How to use images-

You don’t have to just use the photos for Instagram only. I recommend you first creating a place you can house all of your photos for social media/sales content related purposes so you’ll always have a place to put them when you capture something that could be used later. My suggestion is either DropBox or GoogleDrive. It’ll make your life much easier when you want to grab a photo for a campaign or to schedule your content later as well because it’ll all be in one place so that you don’t have to do that endless scroll in your photo roll on your phone.

Here’s what I used to create this video:

DJI Osmo Pro – to record the video
Rode Wireless Mic (plugged into the DJI Osmo Pro)
iPhone – to take pictures and secondary footage at end of video
camera stand / tripod holder
Phone Remote Shutter – to trigger phone wirelessly
